Today, we’re finding out that there was a recent comment by a credible industry insider and reporter, Jeff Grubb. That didn’t take long before rumors and reports started to pop up regarding the game and its lack of information coming out. From there, it’s been relatively silent when it comes from the development team. It looked like a title based around nature and some mythical settings, but that’s about it. Everwild is a completely new IP for the company and is set in a world extremely different to other Rare games. How does that translate into gameplay? It seems like we’ll just have to wait and see.Rare is a cherished video game development studio. Everwild seems to want to explore what it means to be spiritually connected with the world. I get a sense of tranquility when watching the trailer. This doesn’t offer much clarity as to what the core gameplay loop of Everwild will consist of, but if I had to guess, it would seem to be an exploration, adventure-type game, perhaps with a dose of puzzle-solving elements. What you’ll do with this special power remains to be seen, but there’s mention of a “perilous journey” and standing watch over the world. There’s the continued emphasis that only a few “truly feel” this rhythm and it’s presumed that your character, Eternal, is one of those few. I still have no real idea what kind of game Everwild is but I continue to be intrigued. The development team, led by Executive Producer Louise O’Connor, is creating something truly original and incredibly special that aims to be more than just a new IP. Everwild will offer memorable, engaging and meaningful experiences for players everywhere to share.įast forward a year and not much has changed.
